The ZG Patrix or the ZG Metal Patrix is waxed onto the
rootcap using the ZG Paralleling Mandrel and cast. The
yellow matrix is then pressed into the Matrix housing
using the insertion pin. Unlike most other bredent
attachments, it is not necessary to use the yellow
matrix in this case - any desired color may be used.
After the matrix is correctly inserted into the housing,
slip the spacer disc over the patrix. The metal matrix
housing with the matrix installed is then placed on the
patrix on top of the spacer ring.
A base for the denture that will eventually hold the
attachments is produced using tray material.
Before processing, the underside of the metal housing
needs to be blocked out to prevent acrylic from reaching
into the matrix during pressing. The spacer disc needs
to still be in place during this process.
The cylindrical attachment provides a simple and
economical way of processing that can be used in many
application fields.
The matrix can be removed with the matrix pliers and
replaced with another matrix of the same or different
retention level. The matrix can be replaced with either
a friction, snap or resilient matrix.
