SV Paralleling Mandrel

All of the VS-3 attachments can be reduced up to 40% in size to fit the case’s specific needs. The parallel prongs of the SV mandrel can be used as a guide when reducing the VS-3 Mini and VS-3 Mini SV. Bredent USA recommends using the Ceragum Silicone Polisher when reducing attachments (#PRK G22 12).

Grinding down the SV corners at approximately a 45° angle will provide additional clearance and will facilitate the fitting and seating of the chrome framework.

When waxing the copings, VS3 Mini SV does not need a lingual arm rest. The patrix is waxed into place with the SV Mandrel.

The height of the patrix can be reduced by up to 40% in size. The bottom end of the patrix can be adjusted to fit the tissue shape.

After casting and fitting on the model, polish the attachment lightly. If the attachment is not polished, residue and oxide may wear the matrices prematurely.

Before duplicating the case, the duplicating matrix is slipped onto the attachment and all undercuts are blocked out. No wax should get on the matrix.

A refractory model of the case with the duplicating matrix is then created.

Before waxing the partial framework, the wax matrix sleeve is inserted. This assists in creating a precise housing.

The partial framework is then waxed up onto the wax matrix sleeve.

The framework is then cast and fitted down. The matrices are adjusted for height and inserted into the framework.
