Course Description |
This course is designed for technicians who would like to learn how
to fabricate an implant overdenture superstructure also known as an
overcasting. Traditionally, these types of castings are done by
laboratories that specialize in implants, attachments and/or removable
partial denture frames. Due to an overwhelming amount of inquiries on
this type of work by our customers; Bredent USA would like to present
simple techniques on how to fabricate overcastings. Laboratories of all
sizes and specialties can benefit from fabricating this precision work
without investing in costly equipment irrelevant to their specialty.
This is an excellent way to eliminate the stress that often accompanies
subletting this type of work to other laboratories. There are two simple
techniques in fabricating a precision overcasting: one is the lift off
version which is applied with our pikuplast pattern resin directly onto
the relieved implant bar with all attachment components on the master
model. Two is the refractory method in which the relieved implant bar
with all attachment components in place is duplicated using a quality
silicone duplicating material. Once the mold has set, any popular
investment can be poured in to make the refractory model. After the
refractory model has set and completely dried, wax is applied over the
refractory version of the relieved implant bar and any of its attachment
components. Any of these two techniques can be easily done by a
laboratory that casts regularly.
Each participant will obtain a course booklet, accreditation from the
National Board for Certification (6 hours per day) and a course
certificate. |
